This academic year also marks an important new chapterin the leadership of our school.
After ten years as Head of Secondary, I amincredibly proud and privileged to take on the role of Principal ofCambridge English School Hawally, succeeding Mr Leigh Hovey.
I would like to place on record my sincere thanks to Leighfor his leadership and contribution to CES Hawally and to wish him everysuccess for the future.
For me personally, becoming Principal represents anexciting new chapter in my career.
For the past ten years, my professional world hasunderstandably been centred primarily around Secondary education, examinations,IGCSEs, A Levels, curriculum, teaching and learning and the many challenges andopportunities associated with leading a large Secondary section.
I am now looking forward to broadening my knowledge andexperience considerably.
One of the things I am particularly excited about islearning much more about EYFS and Primary education.
I have spent many years talking about the importance of acoherent educational journey for our students from EYFS through to Post-16, andI now have the wonderful opportunity to understand that journey from a muchbroader perspective.
I am looking forward to learning from our excellent EYFSand Primary colleagues, working alongside them and gaining a deeperunderstanding of the exceptional work that takes place in those sections of ourschool.
I am also very conscious that taking on the role ofPrincipal does not mean that I have all the answers.
Quite the opposite.
I see this as an opportunity to listen, learn, collaborate and lead alongside all of you.
